Mobility Coaching

If you want to tackle new mobility skills in the comfort and context of your home, our physical therapists can assist you in progressing your skills in rolling and sitting up in your bed; moving between surfaces such as your wheelchair, bed, couch, floor, or car; powerchair driving and SmartPhone access; manual wheelchairs including wheelies for handling uneven terrain; and standing and walking, depending on your ability level.

See training videos that Elisa and Holly helped create on manual wheelchair skills and transfers for consumers and clinicians to find out more. Below are the introduction videos for wheelies and transfers. There are 21 videos in all and they can be found using the link above.

You can also watch this talk Elisa gave at a Northwest Regional Spinal Cord Injury System forum on manual wheelchair skills.

Mobility Outfitting

Wheelchair Evaluations

We are based out of Shoreline, WA, and customarily evaluate and treat clients in their homes including going through process of performing a postural evaluation, current wheelchair evaluation, wheelchair and accessory "test drives" and modifications, a wheelchair ordering session with a wheelchair vendor representative present, and wheelchair final fitting session(s). We are also happy to work with you if you hope to adjust the fit or obtain new components on your current chair.

Occasionally, clients opt to meet for one of the sessions at the wheelchair vendor's store in order to try out more equipment with us and the wheelchair vendor representative or to have access to a therapy mat table at certain stores for a more detailed postural evaluation. Part of the order process involves clients choosing a wheelchair vendor company and representative, often deciding between companies that are compatible with the clients' insurance companies.
