Elisa Smith has a B.S. in biology from Seattle Pacific University (2002) and a doctorate in physical therapy from Eastern Washington University (2005). She is a Neurologic Clinical Specialist. During her practice since 2005, she has specialized in neuro rehab and custom ultralight and power wheelchair seating and positioning and has experience with children and adults with diagnoses including spinal cord injury, stroke, traumatic brain injury, amputations, polytrauma, and burns.

On short-term trips, she has done manual wheelchair seating for children and adults in China, India, Ghana, Peru, and Jordan. She has created instructional wheelchair skill videos for clinicians and providers with UW Medicine’s Spinal Cord Injury Empowerment Project. She has presented at the NW Regional SCI System forums, Academy of Spinal Cord Injury Professionals, and the SCI Model System’s Therapy Leadership Meetings.

She has practiced in urban hospital neuro inpatient rehab units including at Harborview Medical Center (2005-2016) and has worked in home health, outpatient, and school-based settings. She has had adjunct faculty roles in the University of Puget Sound Doctor of Physical Therapy Program intermittently since 2016. She and Holly Wakefield Miller founded Mobility Coaching and Outfitting, PLLC, in 2017. Holly left the company in late 2022 to focus on her job as a school district PT and on her family.

Elisa enjoys running, hiking, gardening, and cooking and looks forward to collaborating with you.
